In troubled areas after years of war, freedom of expression in Medias is often not garanteed. We know that Medias can play a key role to contribute to reconciliation of the people and bring peace solutions to conflict. To ensure that Medias are allowed to deliver neutral and reliable information is the first step towards democratization.

The articles Brigitte Kehrer wrote in the Media Peace Building field derive from this belief that peace can be broadcasted and that journalists play a crucial role in the way they report about a conflict. This applies as well to all the actors writing and talking about a conflict in international institutions and in NGO's.
